Minus Workshop, a renowned design team, embarked on a unique design journey to create Tirpse, a Michelin-starred restaurant located in K11 Musea, Hong Kong. The restaurant, originally from Tokyo, quickly gained international acclaim, earning a spot among the top 50 restaurants by Diners Club International and achieving a Michelin Star within two months of its inception.
The design inspiration for Tirpse stemmed from a desire to immerse guests in the chef's creative process. Minus Workshop crafted a narrative around five key elements: the forest and its surroundings, the chef's wolf companion, his private hut, the culinary journey, and the treasure chest. This narrative approach to design allowed the team to create a unique and engaging dining experience.
The unique properties of Tirpse lie in its brand history and the innovative approach to its design. Despite the challenges of a tight timeframe and budget constraints, Minus Workshop successfully created a timeless and refined space that continues to captivate guests. The team cleverly utilized a deep corner of the space, transforming it into a secluded area nicknamed the 'Treasure Chest', enhancing the overall dining experience.
The 3200 sq.ft. space is located in K11 MUSEA, a development conceived by over 100 creative talents worldwide, fostering a connection between commerce, creativity, culture, and innovation. The design process, which began in September 2019 and concluded in December 2019, was a testament to Minus Workshop's commitment to excellence and innovation.
Minus Workshop's design for Tirpse is a testament to their ability to merge conceptual imagination with reality, creating a space that offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The design, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, is a testament to the team's remarkable expertise and innovation.
In conclusion, the design journey of Tirpse is a story of innovation, creativity, and dedication. Minus Workshop's unique approach to design has resulted in a space that not only offers a culinary experience but also a journey into the chef's creative world. The success of Tirpse serves as a testament to the power of design in enhancing the dining experience and creating memorable moments for guests.
